Fall can be a really rough time for allergies because you can stir up pollen and mold when you rake up all of those pervasive leaves that fall during the autumn months. Antihistamines or allergy pills can prevent your body from overreacting to common fall allergens. Shorter acting antihistamines can be taken every four to six hours, according to the American College of Asthma, Allergy & Immunology, while others are designed to be used every 12 or 24 hours.
